P.J. Arthur
My name is P.J. Arthur, I am the founder of NFIC. I am married with 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
I started in 1964 as an apprentice, when Woven & Tufted Wool was the only products on the market. From there I went into business for myself in 1967. Through the 70s and 80s I worked as an installer and did some sales of carpet as well. In the 90s I became involved with manufacturing, and continued with sales and installation.
I worked as a trouble shooter with installers, as well as doing inspections for retailers, distributors. Currently I work closely with mills such as Bloomsburg Mill, Design Materials, and Kaleen Carpet. The natural products are where I started and that is where my comfort zone is.
I have watched synthetics come and go, but Woven and Tufted Wools have remained steadfast and have kept their integrity in the market place. Synthetics have tried for years to emulate wool.
In 2006 I started NFIC “Natural Fiber Installers Certification” for several reasons. Natural Fiber was my background and what I specialized in – meaning Woven & Tufted wools. The main reason for starting NFIC was to have continuing education for installers, sales people, and inspectors.
